Halle Berry revealed that she was nervous to play her character in 1994’s The Flintstones.

Playing Miss Sharon Stone,  Fred Flintstone’s (John Goodman) seductive secretary, it was her first time playing an overtly sexual role on camera.

“Did you guys know I went into this somewhat shy as I hadn’t really played this type of vixen/seductress role up until this point 🤷🏽‍♀️,” she wrote on X (Formerly Twitter).

Back in May 2024, Berry spoke about her performance in the film in an Instagram video, saying that the character was a “big step” for Black women in the entertainment industry.

“Being a Black woman in Bedrock seemed like a little thing, but you know, The Flintstones was the fabric of our culture,” Berry recalled.“I knew that this was a big step forward for Black people, Black women especially.”

She continued, “While it was silly, and it was over the top and campy, I knew then how important this little part in this big movie actually would be.”

Interestingly, the real-life Sharon Stone was slated to play the role but had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts. In her place, Berry was cast in the role.

The star-studded film also starred Rick Moranis, Rosie O’Donnell, Elizabeth Perkins, and Kyle MacLachlan, and the final film role of Elizabeth Taylor.
