Joy Taylor has broken her silence about her difficult time in the aftermath of her dismissal from FS1 and being named in sexual assualt lawsuit.
During the latest episode of Cam Newton’s Funky Friday podcast, Taylor spoke about her departure from the sports network and how the drama has dissipated.
“I’m much better now than I was obviously at the beginning of the year,” Taylor told Newton. “It’s been a unique experience for me in my life. I’ve been through a lot of sh*t in my life, but this one was different.”
Taylor said there were “definitely” some “very, very dark” moments during the ordeal, but she said she survived the storm by “leaning on the people in my life that I know have my back, that I know trust and love me, that I can trust.” Also, going to therapy and developing a new workout regimen allowed her to “drown out the noise.”
“So, it’s been a very, very tough year for me personally,” Taylor continued. “It’s also been a learning year, a shedding year, a year where I learned to protect myself, protect myself emotionally, to kind of pay attention to different energies when they enter my space.”
Over the past year, Taylor has been able to reflect on her accomplishments as she maps out her future.
“I’ve really accomplished what I set out to do when I started in this business,” she said. “My goal was to do a daily opinion show where my voice mattered as much as the men at the table. And I was able to do that at the highest level, at the network level.”
