Turning Point USA, the conservative nonprofit founded by the late Charlie Kirk, announced a rival halftime show for Super Bowl 2026, called ‘The All American Halftime Show’
“It’s true, Turning Point USA is thrilled to announce The All American Halftime Show,” the organization announced on the social media platform, X.
This initiative promises to celebrate “faith, family, and freedom,” and marks a bold entry into the long tradition of Super Bowl counterprogramming.
While it hasn’t been revealed who the artist would be, House Speaker Mike Johnson previously suggested 1980s country singer Lee Greenwood as a good pick for the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
The Turning Point announcement follows weeks of conservative uproar after the National Football League revealed that Puerto Rican rapper-singer Bad Bunny would headline the halftime performance in Santa Clara, California.
President Donald Trump called the pick “absolutely ridiculous.” Johnson agreed, telling reporters, “I didn’t even know who Bad Bunny was, but it sounds like a terrible decision in my view,” Johnson added: “Well, it sounds like he’s not someone who appeals to a broader audience. And I think, you know, there’s so many eyes on the Super Bowl. A lot of young, impressionable children.”
Bad Bunny’s tongue-in-cheek response to critics was to tell them in Spanish to learn the language during a Saturday Night Live monologue.
Bad Bunny is scheduled to perform at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 8. He previously said that performing on the NFL’s stage is a moment that “goes beyond myself.”
The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation, which produce the halftime show, have not commented.
