Jennifer Hudson announced plans Tuesday for a 2026 North American arena tour, marking her first major tour in several years.
The tour will bring the Oscar and Grammy winner to large venues across the United States and Canada. It is expected to support her recent and upcoming music projects.
“This tour is a celebration of music, resilience and connection,” Hudson said in a written statement. “I cannot wait to meet fans where they are.”
Hudson shared the news through her official website and social media platforms. She called the tour a “long time coming.”
“For years, people have asked when I would tour again,” she said. “The time finally feels right.”
A Return to the Big Stage
The tour is scheduled to begin in early 2026, according to Hudson’s team. Specific dates and cities have not yet been released.
Her representatives said the tour will focus on arena-sized venues. Many stops are expected in major metropolitan markets.
“Jennifer wanted spaces that allow intimacy but still feel powerful,” her publicist said. “Arenas give her that balance.”
Hudson last toured extensively earlier in her career. Since then, she has focused on film, television and select live performances.
She currently hosts a nationally syndicated daytime talk show. The program has helped introduce her to a broader audience.
“Performing live has always been my first love,” Hudson said. “Nothing replaces the energy of a crowd singing back to you.”
Industry analysts say the tour aligns with renewed interest in large-scale live music events. Ticket sales across genres have remained strong.
“Jennifer Hudson is a proven live performer,” said music analyst Carla Benton. “There is clear demand for her return.”
Building on a Multifaceted Career
Hudson rose to fame after appearing on “American Idol.” She later won an Academy Award for “Dreamgirls.”
She is among a small group of entertainers with multiple major awards. Her career spans music, film and television.
“This tour represents every chapter of my journey,” Hudson said. “I want fans to hear the songs that shaped me.”
She added that the set list will include hits, deep cuts and new material. Production details are still being finalized.
“I want the show to feel personal,” she said. “Every song will have a story.”
Ticket information and official dates are expected later this year. Fans are encouraged to monitor Hudson’s verified platforms.
“I promise it will be worth the wait,” Hudson said. “This is for everyone who has supported me.”
