In the video, Timberlake failed to explain to the officers what he was doing on his world tour.

“I’m on a world tour,” said Timberlake upon being stopped. “Doing what?,” the officer responded. “Hard to explain. I’m Justin Timberlake.” “You are Justin Timberlake?” said the officer.

Then the officer asked for his license.

In the “Mirror” singer appears visibly disoriented while attempting to complete a series of sobriety tests administered by police.

At one point, Timberlake can be heard admitting to the difficulty of the tests.

“These are, like, hard tests,” as he struggled to follow directions and maintain his balance.

Officers instructed him to walk in a straight line and respond to visual cues. He reportedly stumbled multiple times before stopping to tell the police that his “heart was racing.”

Despite a passenger informing officers of Timberlake’s global fame, law enforcement proceeded with the standard protocol, showing no exceptions to Timberlake’s celebrity. The situation intensified when a female fan approached the scene, and pled with officers to let the singer go. She even referenced a number of hits including, “Bye Bye Bye” and “SexyBack.” She asked for a favor, even attempting to hand him a phone before being briefly allowed to speak with him.

By September 2024, Timberlake had reached a plea deal. He agreed to pay a fine between $300 and $500. He also will participate in a program addressing impaired driving.

Earlier this month, Justin Timberlake tried to block the footage’s release, but failed. He refereed it an “unwarranted invasion of privacy.” His legal team warned that the footage will cause reputational damage and harassment.
