Todd Tucker is defending himself after Kandi Burruss criticized him for sharing intimate details about their former marriage.
The former couple’s private life became public conversation after Tucker released a trailer for his upcoming project, “’Til Divorce Do Us Part.” In the clip, Tucker speaks with Peter Thomas, the ex-husband of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Cynthia Bailey.
Thomas asked Tucker whether the rumors about him and Burruss participating in threesomes were true.
“We did. We did. I would say most of our marriage we did,” Tucker responded.
The remark quickly circulated online. Burruss soon made it clear she was unhappy with her former husband discussing their sex life publicly.
“A man who has already hurt me to my core is furthering the damage by choosing to sensationalize our sex life to stretch his five minutes of fame,” Burruss told People. “What consensually happens between a husband and wife in the privacy of their marriage is exactly that—private. His current behavior has only confirmed that I did the right thing by getting divorced. I Do, I Did, I’m Done!”
Tucker says the information was not new
Tucker has now responded to the criticism and offered more context surrounding his original comments. During an appearance on “The Big Tigger Show,” Tucker questioned whether he actually revealed anything Burruss had not previously discussed publicly.
“Did I put out any new information?” Tucker asked. “She’s been saying that for years! It’s just when a guy says it. I didn’t even say it. [Someone] asked me a question.”
The conversation also addressed Tucker’s claim that the encounters happened throughout most of their marriage. Tucker argued that viewers may have interpreted his wording differently than he intended.
“I think people might take that out of context,” Tucker said. “Is the whole marriage every day, every week, once a year? If we do it once a year, 12 times, that’s throughout [our marriage].”
He added that people could “have fun” creating their own narratives about what his comments meant.
Burruss has previously discussed aspects of her sex life during her years on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” However, she has also pushed back against specific rumors involving other people.
Their lives after divorce are becoming public projects
The latest exchange comes months after Burruss and Tucker finalized their divorce. The pair met in 2011 while working on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Tucker was working behind the scenes as a producer.
They became engaged in 2013 and married in April 2014. They announced their split in November 2025 after 11 years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in March.
Burruss has since transformed parts of her divorce experience into her one-woman show, “I Do. I Did. I’m Done.” Tucker is also sharing his perspective through “’Til Divorce Do Us Part.” The reality-style project follows Tucker’s life after divorce. Several men connected to the “RHOA” universe also appear, including Thomas, Apollo Nida, Dennis McKinley and Ralph Pittman.
“Divorce is never easy!” Tucker previously wrote while promoting the project. “I want to share my journey post-divorce. I never thought this would be my story. I made mistakes, and I hope some can learn from my journey.”
Despite their public back-and-forth, Burruss and Tucker remain connected as parents. They share son Ace, 10, and daughter Blaze, 6. Both have previously said they intend to maintain a strong co-parenting relationship. Earlier this year, Burruss said their separation would not erase their family dynamic.
“We have determined that no matter what we’re always going to be great coparents for our kids,” she said during an appearance on “Today With Jenna & Sheinelle.”
The former couple even vacationed together with their children in Bermuda this summer. Still, their latest disagreement shows they have different boundaries about how much of their former marriage should become public.
