R.Kelly Is Set To Move To New York City For Sex-Trafficking Charges

After several delays due to the pandemic, R.Kelly is getting ready to be moved to New York City for Sex-Trafficking charges. 

Kelly is currently facing multiple charges including five counts of racketeering and four counts of violating the Mann act which is transporting women or girls across state lines for illegal sexual activity is considered a felony. 

U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly confirmed during a virtual hearing that the New York trial will begin on August 9th. However, it has been determined when Kelly will be moved to New York. 

The artist has been held in federal custody in Chicago since his arrest in July 2019 where he is involved in a separate federal case that includes charges of pornography and obstruction.

R.Kelly pleaded not guilty in both the New York and Chicago cases and if he is convicted he can face many decades in prison.
