The lawsuit against R&B star Aaron Hall can now advance after being served legal papers in Georgia following a yearlong search.
Hall, who was named alongside Diddy in a civil lawsuit by Liza Garza, was finally served documents according to an AllHipHop exclusive. Process servers had tried to reach Hall for several months but were unsuccessful.
Discovery in Apharetta, Georgia
However on February 2, process server Andrew Drake found Hall as he was staying at an Extended Stay America motel in Alpharetta, Georgia.
As the outlet reports, Drake arrived around noon and asked the front desk staff member, Lis, for Hall’s room number. Hall opened the door after Drake knocked twice.
Drake then informed Hall that he had legal documents to deliver. Hall reportedly asked what the papers were for, glanced at them, and responded, “I ain’t doing that,” before attempting to shut the door. Drake placed the documents on the ground directly in front of him.
“He then shut the door, leaving the papers inside the room at his feet,” Drake stated.
Drake added that Hall was wearing a tan hoodie with the words “Always Thinking Big,” along with black durag and a white beard.
Search stretched multiple states
The discovery put an official end to the yearslong search that stretched from California to Ohio.
AllHipHop.com reported that attempts to serve Hall began all the way back in June of 2024 when a process server went to his home in California but was told by a neighbor that the singer no longer lived there.
While Hall was never reported “missing,” Hall’s alleged avoidance stalled the case from proceeding. The term “missing” referred only to his legal status as someone who could not be located for service of court papers.
By March 2025, attorney Tyrone Blackburn told the court that normal methods had failed. He asked permission to serve Hall through newspaper ads in the Los Angeles Times.
Gardner’s lawsuit claims that Diddy and Hall sexually assaulted her in 1990 when she was just 16 following an MCA Records events. She claims that the men gave her alcohol and took her to an apartment where the incident occurred.
She is seeking monetary damages from both men. The case is civil, not criminal.
Diddy, who was much easier to find, had been served in the case. He has denied the claims.
Hall, 61, is best known for his time in the group Guy along with Teddy Riley and his brother, Damion.
