Angel Reese has finally made a return to the LSU basketball team after a four-game hiatus. The LSU Tigers beat Virginia Tech 82-64, with the 2023 NCAA National Champion’s return. She contributed 19 points and nine rebounds to the team’s win.
Iin an on-court postgame interview, she made sure to highlight her teammates.
“My teammates have been holding it down, I’m just super happy to be back with the team,” Reese said. “This atmosphere, I missed it so much. I’m just happy to move forward and be back.”
Elsewhere int he night, she spoke in a post game conference about her return.
“It felt great. I mean, it was a long two weeks or a week and a half, two weeks,” she shared. “Taking time to yourself is really important. I feel like that’s just something that was important in resetting and refocusing within the team. I’m just happy to be back.”

She made sure to put a spotlight on mental health.
“My mental health is the most important thing before anything,” she stated. “I’m going to make sure I’m OK before anything because I don’t want to cause anything — harm or any cancer within the locker room. So, being able to take a reset to myself. Like I said before, I am human. I’m not just an athlete, and that’s OK to do.”
Reese last played with the team on Nov. 14 when she was benched in the second half of the game.
