Big Tigger will not face criminal charges.
Back in June, Tigger was taken into custody by the Sandy Springs Police Department. Charged with aggravated battery and cruelty to children in the third degree, he was subsequently released on bond.
According to TMZ, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has “declined to prosecute Morgan, meaning that the criminal case against him has been dropped.”
In July, Morgan stated he would be stepping away from his morning broadcast, citing a desire to prioritize family while his legal team managed his current affairs.
”For as long as I’ve been in this industry, my focus has always been to keep the spotlight on the culture and the incredible people I get to interview,” Morgan wrote. “But right now, my personal life is in the public eye and has become the subject of overwhelming speculation and misinformation.”
His announcement came less than a week after Francesca Amiker, his co-host, filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Morgan’s estranged wife, Alicia Brown.
TIGGER’S LEGAL ISSUES
Investigators previously said Brown sought medical treatment for injuries before authorities became involved. Officials indicated the injuries were not considered life-threatening. However, details surrounding how the injuries occurred have not been publicly released.
Reports previously revealed that police were investigating an alleged domestic incident, though no charges or arrests had been announced. The situation gained traction online following social media allegations, which Brown appeared to address in posts that fueled further speculation.
Tigger came to national fame as the iconic long-running host of BET’s flagship programs Rap City: Tha Basement and 106 & Park. In radio, Tigger established an undefeated rating record during his early run at Washington, D.C.’s WPGC 95.5 FM, went on to launch the nationally syndicated Live in the Den with Big Tigger, and became a signature voice on Atlanta’s V-103 (WVEE-FM) as host of The Big Tigger Morning Show.
