Reality television personality Dr. Heavenly Kimes is speaking out in support of Atlanta radio veteran Big Tigger as his legal troubles continue to unfold.
The “Married to Medicine” star addressed the controversy during a recent livestream after new developments emerged in the ongoing case involving the former BET “Rap City” host. Kimes urged the public not to rush to judgment while the legal process continues.
Her comments came days after Big Tigger, whose legal name is Darian Morgan, stepped away from his morning show on Atlanta’s V-103 radio station. He said he wanted to focus on his family and allow his legal team to handle the case. Morgan faces felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor cruelty to children charges stemming from an alleged domestic incident involving his estranged wife, Alicia Brown. He has denied all allegations. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
Dr. Heavenly Urges Patience
During her remarks, Kimes questioned the growing public criticism surrounding Morgan.
“I know Big Tigger,” she said. “I don’t believe he’s that type of person.”
She continued by encouraging viewers to wait until all of the facts become available.
“I’m not saying anybody’s lying,” Kimes said. “I’m saying we don’t know everything. Let the legal system do what it’s supposed to do.”
Kimes also referenced Brown’s recent arrest on unrelated warrants connected to an alleged child custody and kidnapping case originating in Maryland. She suggested the development complicated public perception of the situation.
“Everybody jumped on one side,” Kimes said. “Now we’re finding out there’s more to the story.”
Brown was arrested in Georgia after authorities said she was wanted on outstanding warrants from Maryland. Officials said she also faced a separate felony interference with child custody warrant in Georgia. Those allegations are unrelated to Morgan’s pending criminal case.
Case Continues to Develop
Morgan has consistently denied the accusations against him since his arrest.
Following his release on bond, he issued a public statement defending himself.
“I unequivocally deny every allegation that has been made against me,” Morgan said.
“For the past 30+ years, I have built my life around relationships and community. Those who know me know the man, father, husband, and friend I have been throughout my life.”
He continued, “Because this is an active legal matter, I am limited in what I can say. What I can say is that I have complete confidence in the facts and in the legal process. I will continue to cooperate fully and trust that the truth will come to light.”
More recently, Morgan announced he would temporarily leave his radio duties.
“For as long as I’ve been in this industry, my focus has always been to keep the spotlight on the culture and the incredible people I get to interview,” he wrote.
“But right now, my personal life is in the public eye and has become the subject of overwhelming speculation and misinformation.”
He added, “Through all of this, what hurts the most is being away from my son. Nothing is more important to me than being a great father.”
“So I’ve decided to step away from the mic for a while to focus on my family and give my legal team the room they need. As I previously said, I unequivocally deny every allegation, and I am looking forward to clearing my name. Thank you so much all for the love and support.”
The legal dispute has drawn significant attention in Atlanta media. It has also prompted additional civil litigation involving Morgan’s radio co-host and Brown. Those matters remain active in court.
No trial date has been announced in Morgan’s criminal case. The charges against both Morgan and Brown remain allegations. Both cases will proceed independently through their respective court systems.
