The Cleveland rap group became the 2,851st recipient of a star on the famed boulevard. The ceremony took place in Hollywood just days before the group’s latest tour begins. Fellow hip-hop artists and longtime supporters joined members of the public to celebrate the occasion.

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, consisting of Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone and Flesh-n-Bone, rose to prominence during the 1990s. Their signature blend of melodic harmonies, rapid-fire delivery and emotional storytelling helped reshape hip-hop.

The group earned mainstream success with hits including “Tha Crossroads,” “1st of tha Month” and “Thuggish Ruggish Bone.” They also collaborated with artists including Tupac Shakur, The Notorious B.I.G., Mariah Carey and mentor Eazy-E.

A Career That Changed Hip-Hop

During the ceremony, the group reflected on their journey from Cleveland to one of entertainment’s most recognizable landmarks.

“Receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a blessing beyond words. Coming from Cleveland, we never imagined that the music we created would touch so many lives around the world. This honor belongs not only to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, but to our families, our city, our fans, and everyone who believed in us from the beginning.”

The group’s biggest commercial success came with “Tha Crossroads.” The song honored Eazy-E following his death in 1995. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 and earned the group a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

Fellow Hip-Hop Icons Celebrate the Honor

Several prominent artists attended the ceremony to praise Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s contributions to music. Among those speaking were Ice-T and Fat Joe, who credited the group with expanding the creative possibilities of rap music.

The recognition comes as nostalgia for 1990s hip-hop continues to grow. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony remains active through touring and live performances. The group’s concerts continue attracting longtime fans while introducing younger audiences to its catalog.

Their influence extends beyond chart success. Many modern rappers have cited Bone Thugs-N-Harmony as pioneers of melodic rap. Their harmonized flows helped inspire styles that later became staples across mainstream hip-hop.
