Conservative commentator Candace Owens has publicly expressed deep regret for advocating a Trump vote in the 2024 election. On Piers Morgan Uncensored, she disclosed a rare shift in tone toward the former president.

“He’s been a chronic disappointment. And I feel embarrassed that I told people to go vote for him,” Owens said, criticizing Trump’s recent foreign policy choices.

Breaking With MAGA Over Foreign Policy

Owens pinpointed Trump’s decision to authorize strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities as the turning point. She labeled the move as a betrayal of the “America First” promise.

“There was no imminent threat to the United States when Trump made this decision to do what Bibi wanted. This was not Trump’s decision—it was Bibi Netanyahu’s decision,” she stated.

She accused Israeli influence, saying a “$100 million donation from Miriam Adelson” tied Trump’s hands. Owens warned that U.S. policy was being driven by “Israel‑first neocons,” not American interests.

A New Political Landscape

Until now, Owens had consistently supported Trump. She even defended his 2020 victory and scoffed at comparisons to Kamala Harris. Yet on the Morgan show, she confessed:

“I wanna be clear. I don’t regret voting for Donald Trump over Kamala… What I will say is that he’s been a chronic disappointment, and I feel embarrassed that I told people to go vote for him… This is not the candidate I voted for,” she declared.

Owens described her support as driven by Trump’s pledge to end “never‑ending wars.” Now, she sees his actions as a betrayal of that vow.

Voices Inside the MAGA Camp

She isn’t alone. Other MAGA figures—like Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon, and Marjorie Taylor Greene—also criticized Trump’s strike, claiming he “betrayed MAGA.”

Owens further escalated her criticism, labeling Israel a “terrorist state” engaged in genocide, adding: “I’m really over this idea that somehow Israel has the moral high‑ground.”

What’s Next for Owens?

Owens’ break with Trump isn’t just rhetoric. After she was dismissed from The Daily Wire in March 2024 amid her vocal stance on Gaza, and disputes with Ben Shapiro, her public criticism has only intensified.

At 36, she represents a growing faction within conservative circles that is reconsidering its unwavering support for Trump.

“I don’t know where we go from here… This is not the candidate I voted for,” Owens admitted.
