Mo’Nique did not hold back how she truly felt about her peers and decided to air them out during her appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Club Shay” podcast. One person in particular she went after was fellow comedian, D.L. Hughley.
While speaking to Sharpe, Mo’Nique revisited the time she felt disrespected by Hughley’s radio show hosts during a game of “Would You Rather” and felt that he dismissed her feelings when she told him about it. She also talked about the issue that they had over who was headlining an event back in 2022.
Hughley would later share his thoughts on the situation and what Mo’Nique said about on social media. In the post he wrote, “The reason lies and false narratives continue to go on and circulate is because they go unchecked. What you’re not gonna do is call me out my name and not get checked. Mo’Nique is a liar!”
He continued, “She is constantly throwing the rock and hiding the hand. You don’t get to tear people down and then soften the blow by calling them ‘Brotha,’ ‘Sista,’ or ‘Sweet baby.’ That’s not love, far from it.”
During her interview, Mo’Nique also spoke on Tiffany Haddish and the comments she made about her and her husband.
