The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, kicked off her Christmas Time Tour in November to spread holiday cheer. But the songbird had to cancel more of her shows after coming down with the flu.
Carey canceled her show on December 11, which was set to take place in Pittsburgh at the UBG Paints Arena. The singer explained that she had been struck down by illness before her concert. “Pittsburgh, I am sorry to say, I’ve come down with the flu. It breaks my heart that I unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. I love you all so much,” she wrote to her fans.
Then on Friday, Dec. 13, Carey 55, told fans she still wasn’t well, so she wouldn’t be taking the stage as planned at Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center and Belmont Park, New York’s UBS Arena for her Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time shows.
“Newark and Belmont – I wish I had better news but unfortunately I’m still sick and have to cancel the shows tonight and on Sunday. I’m really devastated about it and appreciate your support. Love, MC 💔”
The singer has another date scheduled for December 17 at New York City’s Barclays Center, but she has yet to announce if she will be canceling the show. Fans shared their support and wished Mariah a speedy recovery.
“I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well. I flew from Houston to see it tonight, I guess I’ll be back in Vegas next year for the residency,” one person wrote, while someone else commented, “So sad about this… we flew all the way from London for tonight’s show.”
