Dawn Richard, a former member of the Bad Boy girl group Danity Kane, has filed a lawsuit against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of sexual assault and abuse. Richard’s claims add to the growing list of allegations against him, who has been facing multiple legal challenges related to sexual misconduct.
Richard, who gained fame on the mogul’s MTV reality show Making the Band in 2004, alleges that he manipulated her by promising to advance her career if she complied with his demands. According to her lawsuit, Diddy verbally abused female contestants on the show, calling them derogatory names like “fat,” “ugly,” and “b*s.”
In one instance, Richard claims Diddy forced her to rehearse for 48 hours without rest, which severely impacted her health. Another disturbing allegation states that Diddy demanded Richard visit his Miami home, where he greeted her without wearing any clothes. When she asked him to put on clothing, he allegedly screamed, “This is my f***ing house!”
Richard Claims to be Witness to Abuse
Richard’s lawsuit also includes allegations that she witnessed Diddy abusing his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Richard claims she saw Diddy physically assault Cassie in 2009, allegedly choking and dragging her up a flight of stairs in his Los Angeles home. During another incident, Richard alleges that Diddy threw a hot pan at Cassie while shouting, “I can’t stand you b***h, you never do it right!”
Richard also recalls an incident where Diddy allegedly locked her in a car for two hours. Her screams were ignored, and her father had to drive from Baltimore to New York to rescue her. When her father confronted Diddy, he reportedly responded, “Think about your daughter’s career.”
A Growing List of Accusations
Dawn Richard’s lawsuit is the latest in a string of disturbing claims against the Bad Boy exec, including accusations of sexual assault, abuse, and trafficking. Diddy’s legal team has denied all allegations, but the growing number of lawsuits paints a troubling picture for the hip-hop icon. Richard’s claims, if proven true, could further damage Diddy’s already tarnished reputation in the music industry.
