Floyd Mayweather Jr’s nickname is “Money,” and he claims he still has plenty of cash.
Speaking with Cam’ron, Mayweather claimed that he’s not going broke and is still handling his business.
“Nobody has taken none of my properties away from me,” Mayweather began. “I still got all my houses. And I still got everything. My mother, my whole family, their bills are still paid. Still pay all my employees… The Black community has been paying money for years to come see me fight… You bet it on Floyd ’cause I prove that I’m 100% when I get in that ring… They believe in me… After they go home, and they got everything they won, they’re praying on my downfall.”
“We don’t want to see Floyd win nothing… It’s this lawsuit, it’s that lawsuit… I get myself out of the situation… It’s not me… I’m the biggest name… Who they gon’ point the finger at? […] I ain’t got social media on my phone. I’m too focused on building generational wealth… ,” he continued. “At the end of the day, I’m good.”
Despite earning an estimated $1.5 billion in his career, Mayweather Jr. has been hit with high-profile legal and tax issues. The IRS issued a $7.3 million lien against him for unpaid taxes, with warnings that his passport could be revoked due to “seriously delinquent tax debt.”
Adding to his woes, Mayweather has been hit with a string of lawsuits for unpaid bills. There’s a $330,000 claim for back rent on a luxury Manhattan condominium and over $105,000 in unpaid private jet charter fees. He was also ordered to pay $1 Million in child support back in May.
Many claimed that Mayweather has booked exhibition matches with Mike Zambidis and Manny Pacquiao to gain some immediate big money.
Both fights are now in limbo.
