Singer Jason Derulo recently stated that he feels uncomfortable working alone with women ever since his sexual harassment case.

In a Dec. 4 episode on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Derulo opened up about the emotional aftermath he’s experienced after being hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit in 2023 from singer Emaza Dilan.

When asked in the interview what he learned from that case, without hesitation he said “never work with women.” Jason went on to clarify that he’ll never be alone in a room with a female that he works with again.

As Rolling Stone reports, Dilan originally brought forward the lawsuit accusing Derulo of sexual harassment and other misconduct. Dilan first sued Derulo and Atlantic in October 2023 in Los Angeles, but a California judge dismissed the complaint last year, ruling that Dilan had signed artist agreements with clauses agreeing that all legal disputes would be confined to New York courts.

Dilan’s lawsuit was dismissed in both California and Nevada, according to Complex.

The case was refiled in New York only days after Derulo recorded the interview.

Dilan alleged that the “Ridin’ Solo” singer repeatedly pressured her into drinking and having sex with him, which she says she always refused.

Derulo replied to the claims in an X post, calling them false and hurtful.

In the interview Derulo also addressed one of the more bizarre allegations mentioned in Dilan’s lawsuit, a claim suggesting he “sacrificed a goat in a sexual ritual.” He dismissed that statement completely.

“That case was dismissed twice,” Derulo said. “And I lost so many brand deals, relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable.”

He also questioned how the case was covered publicly. “Why didn’t they post the dismissal at least?” he asked. “Wouldn’t that be fair? God damn. None of that? It’s crazy.”

In addition to his music career, the Haitian singer previously served as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance. It was announced in May that he will be headlining his “The Last Dance World Tour,” which begins next year. The tour will see him perform in Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Leeds, Manchester and Dublin among other cities.
