Jason Weaver To Teach Film Masterclass at South Carolina State University

Jason Weaver, a multi-talented actor and singer, has captured the hearts of audiences around the world with his charismatic performances. Now the acting veteran is sharing his expertise with SC State University students as part of an Industry Insiders Masterclass.

The university’s instagram account posted Weaver making the annoucement.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the one and only Jason Weaver to our campus! 🎉✨ Join us in celebrating this incredible visit as they share their wisdom and experiences with our Bulldog community. 🎓💡 Get ready for an inspiring workshop filled with insights and inspiration.”

The Chicago native who joined the entertainment industry at a young age, shared his excitement on hosting the film workshop.

“Our goal is to empower students to establish and nurture a lifelong career in the dynamic world of film and television by offering valuable insights into how the film industry actually works and creating an experience for aspiring actors and allowing them to dissect and perform scenes and get feedback and constructive critique.”

Weaver’s early career highlights include his appearance on the talent show “Star Search” in the late 1980s. But his breakthrough moment came in 1992 when he portrayed the young Michael Jackson in the critically acclaimed miniseries “The Jacksons: An American Dream.” He later lended his vocal for the popular Lion King hit “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King.”

In the 90s and early 2000s, Weaver continued to build on his success with various television and film roles. He appeared in popular shows like “Smart Guy” and “Thea” and made guest appearances on series like “Sister, Sister” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”

In addition to his television work, Weaver starred in numerous film productions including “Drumline,” “ATL” and “The Chi” solidifying his status as a versatile actor capable of taking on diverse characters.
