Jay-Z has plans to bring his famous 40/40 Club back to New York City.

The iconic nightclub closed its doors in August 2023 after being open for 20 years, however, the Brookyn-born rapper has his sights set on bringing it back in 2025. A reimagined pop-up will be at Fanatics Fest this weekend in NY.

“It’s always been the plan to pen a new spot,” the club’s vice president of operations Sheldon Robinson said. “Finding the right location that makes sense to the brand is key, and that takes some time. We’ve narrowed it down to our last few choices and now we’re in the negotiation phase.”

He also talked about his expectations about the club’s progress. “Hopefully by the end of this year we’ll have a lease signed and we can break ground. The idea is that we’ll have a club in 2025.” Jay-Z is reportedly heavily involved in the project to make sure that this new location holds the same essence as the previous location and to be a staple in New York City nightlife.

“Jay definitely wants to keep it as part of his legacy,” Robinson added. At the moment it is unknown on where the new 40/40 Club will be located, however, the anticipation of the club’s return is very high.
