Jennifer Hudson is offering public support to Kelly Clarkson following the cancellation of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” praising her former “American Idol” rival as resilient and influential.

Hudson shared her thoughts during a recent interview while promoting upcoming episodes of her own daytime program. She spoke warmly about Clarkson’s impact on daytime television and music.

“I just want to wish Kelly the absolute best in whatever comes next,” Hudson said. “She has always been a force.”

The two singers rose to fame in the early 2000s and have remained friendly peers. Both later transitioned into daytime television with shows built around music, interviews and personal storytelling.

Hudson acknowledged that cancellations are difficult, even for established stars. She said the end of a show does not define a career.

“Television is a season-by-season business,” Hudson said. “It does not take away from what she built.”

According to industry reports, NBC decided not to continue Clarkson’s talk show after several years on air. Network executives cited shifting programming strategies and rising production costs.

A representative for the show confirmed the decision but emphasized its success. “The show had an incredible run and a loyal audience,” the representative said. “We are proud of what the team accomplished.”

Colleagues Reflect on Clarkson’s Influence

Clarkson has not spoken at length about the cancellation. She briefly addressed the news in a statement shared through her publicist.

“I am so grateful for the years we had and the people we met,” Clarkson said. “This show changed my life.”

Hudson said she understands that feeling well. Her own program faced early skepticism before finding its audience.

“There were moments when I had to remind myself why I started,” Hudson said. “Kelly knows her why.”

Industry analysts say Clarkson’s show stood out for its musical segments and candid conversations. The format helped distinguish it in a crowded daytime field.

Media analyst Robert Thompson said Clarkson brought authenticity to the genre. “Viewers believed her,” he said. “That is rare and powerful.”

Hudson echoed that assessment, pointing to Clarkson’s openness. “She let people see the real her,” Hudson said. “That connection lasts beyond any show.”

Despite the setback, Hudson said Clarkson’s future remains bright. She pointed to Clarkson’s ongoing music career and television experience.

“Kelly has so many lanes she can walk into,” Hudson said. “This is just another chapter.”

Fans have flooded social media with messages of encouragement since the news broke. Many thanked Clarkson for creating a welcoming space during challenging times.

As for Hudson, she said the situation reinforces gratitude. “Every day on air is a gift,” she said. “You learn to honor it.”

Clarkson ended her statement on a hopeful note. “I am excited for what is ahead,” she said. “There is always more to sing.”
