Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s media company, Boardroom, has entered a new partnership with Amazon-owned podcast network Wondery, marking another step in the company’s expansion beyond sports media and into premium audio programming.

The agreement will bring several Boardroom-produced podcasts to Wondery’s distribution and advertising network. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal comes as Amazon continues to strengthen Wondery’s podcast portfolio through partnerships with high-profile creators and media brands. In recent years, Wondery has secured major agreements involving some of the industry’s most recognizable personalities and shows, reflecting growing competition among podcast distributors seeking larger audiences and advertising revenue streams.

Boardroom was founded in 2019 by Durant, the NBA superstar, and longtime business partner Rich Kleiman. The company focuses on the intersection of sports, business, entertainment and culture. What began as a content platform has evolved into a broader media brand with events, newsletters, video programming and original podcasts.

Expanding Boardroom’s Audio Presence

The partnership is expected to provide Boardroom with greater reach through Wondery’s distribution infrastructure and advertising capabilities. Wondery has become one of the largest podcast publishers in the industry since its launch in 2016 and has operated under Amazon ownership since 2021.

For Boardroom, the agreement represents an opportunity to grow its audience while deepening its presence in the rapidly evolving podcast market.

Durant has increasingly expanded his business interests beyond basketball in recent years. Through Boardroom and investment firm Thirty Five Ventures, he has built a portfolio spanning media, technology, sports and entertainment. The company has sought to create content that highlights the business decisions, investments and cultural influence of athletes and executives.

Boardroom’s podcast lineup has featured conversations with athletes, entrepreneurs, entertainers and business leaders. The shows often focus on leadership, innovation, ownership and personal branding, topics that have become central to the company’s identity.

Amazon Continues Podcast Push

The Boardroom agreement arrives as Amazon continues investing in podcast content through Wondery. The company recently expanded its slate with additional creator partnerships and exclusive distribution arrangements, underscoring the strategic role podcasts play across Amazon Music and other Amazon-owned platforms.

Industry observers view podcasting as an increasingly important area for media companies seeking new advertising opportunities and direct relationships with consumers. While competition remains intense among major audio platforms, premium content partnerships continue to be a primary strategy for attracting listeners.

Neither Boardroom nor Wondery has publicly outlined a launch timeline for new programming under the partnership. However, executives from both companies described the agreement as a way to broaden access to Boardroom’s content and create new opportunities for storytelling across sports, business and culture.

The deal positions Boardroom alongside a growing roster of creator-led brands working with Wondery as the podcast industry continues to mature and expand.
