Khloé Kardashian has revealed a violent confrontation with former NBA player Lamar Odom during the final stages of their troubled relationship, describing a moment she said marked a breaking point.
The incident, detailed in a forthcoming Netflix documentary, occurred after Odom’s widely reported 2015 overdose and during his recovery period.
Kardashian said she discovered Odom using drugs inside a home she had arranged for his care.
“I just remember he was smoking crack,” she said, recalling the moment she confronted him.
A Breaking Point in a Troubled Marriage
Kardashian described Odom as physically weakened at the time, still struggling with the aftermath of his near-fatal overdose.
“So at this point, Lamar can barely talk,” she said. “He can speak a little bit but it’s more like, ‘Mmhmm,’ and everything’s delayed.”
She added that he was unable to perform basic tasks independently.
Despite those limitations, Kardashian said she recognized signs of drug use immediately.
“Once you know the smell of crack, it’s the most identifiable, disgusting smell,” she said.
According to Kardashian, the discovery triggered an emotional and physical reaction.
She admitted to striking Odom during the confrontation, describing it as the culmination of years of frustration.
The former couple married in 2009 and separated in 2013. Their divorce was finalized in 2016.
Their relationship had been marked by Odom’s struggles with substance abuse and infidelity, which he later acknowledged publicly.
Addiction and Aftermath
Odom’s battle with addiction has been well documented. In October 2015, he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel after using drugs, an incident that left him in a coma.
The medical emergency temporarily halted divorce proceedings as Kardashian remained by his side during recovery.
In later interviews, Odom expressed remorse for his actions and credited Kardashian for her support during that period.
“She always tried to do her best,” Odom said in a recent interview, reflecting on their past.
Still, the relationship ultimately did not recover.
Kardashian said the confrontation over drug use became a decisive moment.
Sources familiar with the documentary said the incident led her to sever ties and ask Odom to leave the home.
The upcoming documentary revisits both Odom’s basketball career and his personal struggles, including addiction and recovery.
For Kardashian, the episode represents what she described as the end of her efforts to save the relationship.
“I sacrificed so much of my life,” she said, describing the toll of caring for Odom during his recovery.
The documentary is scheduled to premiere later this month.
