Michael B. Jordan and the B is for Best Actor.

The acclaimed actor won his first Academy Award at the 98th ceremony for Best Actor for his powerful dual performance in Warner Bros.’ cultural phenomenon Sinners.
Jordan received a roaring standing ovation at the Dolby Theatre as he accepted his award.
His Speech
“God is good,” Jordan said as he opened his heartfelt speech. The actor thanked his family in attendance, including his mother seated beside him. He also thanked his father, who flew in from Ghana to witness the milestone moment.
Michael B. Jordan also expressed gratitude to Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group co-chairs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy for supporting the film’s bold vision.
“Thank you for believing in this dream,” he said. This vision of Ryan Coogler, and betting on the culture and original artistry.”
He then turned his attention to longtime collaborator Ryan Coogler, the writer, director and producer behind Sinners.
“You’re an amazing person. I’m honored to call you a collaborator and a friend,” said Jordan. You gave me the opportunity and space for me to be seen.”
Coogler and Jordan’s first collaboration came in the 2013’s Fruitvale Station, followed by the Black Panther franchise.

The Newark, NJ native later paid tribute to the trailblazers who paved the way before him. This included, Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forrest Whitaker and Will Smith.
“To be among those giants.. thank you for betting on me,” he said.
Sinners dominated this year’s Oscars with a record-breaking 16 nominations. The thriller took home awards for Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Original Score, and Jordan’s Best Actor award.
The film earned over $369 million worldwide.
