Raven-Symoné is grieving the loss of her father, Christopher B. Pearman, who passed away recently. The former Disney star shared the heartbreaking news on social media, posting a throwback photo of herself as a child in her father’s arms. The caption, written on October 1, read, “My life has been long and abundant. And the path I’m on started with a dream. Hope he is watching with a smile on his face…🕊️#christopherbpearman.”
While Raven-Symoné did not provide further details about her father’s passing, she confirmed the news in a response to a comment. A follower asked if her post meant her father had died, to which Raven replied, “Yes ma’am.”
A Supportive Father and Mentor
Christopher B. Pearman played a pivotal role in Raven-Symoné’s career from a young age. Alongside his wife, Lydia Gaulden, Pearman raised Raven-Symoné and her younger brother Blaize Pearman. When Raven was just three years old, Pearman became her manager, guiding her as she started acting in The Cosby Show.
In a 2010 interview, Pearman spoke proudly of his daughter’s independence. “She got to a point where she said, ‘Daddy, I can run my own company,’” Pearman recalled. “And I’m like, ‘You have the tools.’”
Pearman, a media professional, also worked in public relations and advertising. He directed episodes of That’s So Raven, further supporting his daughter’s rise in the entertainment industry.
Another Loss for Raven-Symoné
Tragically, this news comes just a year after the death of Raven-Symoné’s younger brother, Blaize Pearman, who passed away from colon cancer at age 31. Reflecting on her brother’s passing, Raven-Symoné shared in December 2023, “He is in a better place now. He’s loved and missed.”
As Raven mourns the loss of her father, her friends and loved ones have shown support. Kenan Thompson expressed his condolences, writing, “Sending love,” while Kimberly J. Brown shared, “I’m so sorry, I just lost my dad too.”
