Ryan Garcia’s win over Devin Haney in their match may be overturned.

It was revealed that Garcia had tested positive for the banned substance ostarine during a recent drug test. The drug seemed to have been present before and after his fight according to reports.

The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association shared this information in a letter sent to all parties involved and concerned. Reports also say that urine samples were collected before the fight which showed traces of the banned steroid, however, it wasn’t disclosed until after the fight was over.

Garcia responded to the allegations and has denied any use of steroids. On social media, he posted “Fake news like I’m Donald Trump. I don’t even know what “ostarine” is. Ion care pull up to Warwick. NO WEAPON AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER.”

In a video along with the post, he added, “I came on here to address this bull f******g s**t claim that I cheated. Everybody knows that I don’t cheat. What can I say? Why didn’t they come out with this before, you know if they found it before. Why would they let me step into the ring as a cheater and then come out with the victory and then they post this? These are people that are trying to attack me for whatever reason but no weapon against me shall prosper. I never taken a steroid … I don’t even know where to get steroids … I barely take supplements … big lies, I beat his (Devin Haney) a**.”

Since learning of Garcia’s positive drug test, The New York State Athletic Commission said they will continue to uphold the safety and fairness in professional sports.
