Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, have revealed the gender of their second baby.
The event, which is posted on their YouTube channel, starts with Williams getting ready for the event and saying that she hopes that her baby will be a girl. “I’m a little nervous because I don’t have any contingency plan if it tours out to be a boy,” the 23-time Grand Slam champion said.
Although Williams was full of nerves, Alexis decided to play a little prank on her and their five-year-old daughter, Olympia by giving them a yellow cake instead of a pink or blue cake. “I’m doing this because I want to troll her and Olympia into thinking that this is the reveal of Jelly Bean,” he said.
“She will cut into this cake and probably be disappointed and hopefully appreciate my troll. But, we’ll see. I don’t know if she’s gonna be a professional about it. She might see this cake come out, roll her eyes, and say, ‘This guy had one job and he gave me a goddamn cake gender reveal.’ But we’ll see. There’s a reveal after the reveal.”
The prank didn’t bother Williams too much, but the real reveal happened during a light show. “We are actually going to reveal Jelly Bean’s sex. The way we’re going to do it, though is with a little style and some spectacular lights.”
The light show revealed that the couple will be welcoming a girl! Congratulations to the entire family.
