In a new interview with The Washington Post, comedian, Tiffany Haddish opened up about her breakup with rapper, Common.
After going on an episode with Jason Lee for his Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee Uncensored, Common publicly announced the breakup. He was adamant that the split was mutual and he even went on to say that Haddish is “one of the best people I’ve met in life.”
In the new interview, Haddish denies those claims, saying that it “wasn’t mutual.” She explained that he broke up with her via a phone call.
“It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course.’ And I was like, ‘Okay. Like you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. Okay?’”
However, Haddish mentioned the pleasures of their partnership. She said that her time with Common was “the healthiest, the funnest relationship I’ve ever had.”
“It’s where I felt safest out of all the relationships I’ve ever had,” she continued. She said that eventually, he stopped inviting her out to events, including his own birthday party. Shortly after, he broke up with her.
Elsewhere in the interview, Haddish opened up about her previous history with pregnancies. She revealed that she has had eight miscarriages in he lifetime. She also added that she’s still open to loving. “I’m a pretty positive person, and I’m here to have an experience,” she said. “I would love to have a partner to experience it with.”
