TLC is reflecting on their time in the music industry along with the memory of their beloved late group member, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez. After being presented the first-ever People’s Award at Audacy’s V-103 Winterfest, they spoke with Big Tigger about where they’d be as a trio if Lopez was still alive.
“Chileeeeee, she woulda been the Kanye [West] of Twitter,” T-Boz joked to Big Tigger.
Chilli added, “Yes! 100 percent. No seriously. She woulda had more Twitter and Instagram followers than anybody!”
In regards to the success of TLC hadn’t Lopez died, T-Boz says that isn’t something they would be able to measure.
“[There’s] no telling what heights we woulda reached, if she were still here. I mean because it’s still a blessing that we’re still able to tour and are still selling out arenas overseas and in America,” she explained.
“Her memory lives on through us,” Chilli added.
The members of the group shared that they are still wrapping their heads around the longevity of their careers currently. T-Boz says the feel is “surreal.”
“You say you wanna be the biggest and the baddest, but we’re kinda still holding the torch,” she shared. “I’m just saying and it’s a blessing.”
In terms of new projects underway, the group confirmed that a Broadway play with the team behind the hit show, Hamilton, is in the works. Additionally, they said a rumored TV show, is alos on the horizon.
