The production of the show acted as a reunion for Davidson and Martin who lost touch after nearly 15 years.

“Me and Martin got together probably after 14 years. We hadn’t seen each other. We hadn’t been on camera together since the show was out,” he shared, noting it started with a conversation with Christopher ‘Kid’ Reid about the lack of Black late-night hosts.

Varnell Hill is co-created and executive produced by Martin co-creator, star and executive producer Martin Lawrence and Martin executive producer/showrunner Bentley Evans, with Jesse Collins also executive producing.
