Tyler Perry is slated to receive The Paley Honors Award from The Paley Center for Media later this year. The prestigious accolade recognizes Perry’s groundbreaking contributions to media and his commitment to diverse storytelling.

“Throughout my career, I have strived to bring people together and to give a voice to those often underrepresented in media,” expressed Perry. “Media has served as a vital platform for this mission, and I’m honored to receive this award from The Paley Center for Media.”
The ceremony is scheduled for December 4 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. It will gather industry leaders and Perry’s peers to celebrate his achievements. Maureen J. Reidy, President & CEO of The Paley Center, praised Perry’s role in advancing the industry. “Tyler Perry has solidified his place as one of media’s greatest and most impactful figures. With each new project, he continues to move our industry, and our culture, forward,” she said.
Perry’s extensive body of work spans over 2,000 television episodes and 28 feature films, including the iconic Madea franchise. His productions have resonated widely, breaking barriers, dispelling stereotypes, and educating audiences worldwide.
The Paley Honors Tribute Host Committee features a distinguished lineup including Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Industry luminaries such as Whoopi Goldberg, Taraji P. Henson, and Kerry Washington will also be in attendance. This gathering underscores Perry’s profound influence across entertainment and philanthropy.
In addition to this honor, Perry has received accolades like the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Oscars and the Governors Award at the Emmys.
