Tyra Banks revealed she is one of the many who lost her home in the L.A. wildfires.

During an appearance on Sunrise, an Australian breakfast show on Monday, (Jan. 20), Banks spoke about the devastating events and how her family is dealing with the aftermath. She noted that “some are doing okay, some are not doing so great.”

“I’m one of them,” when asked if she knew of anyone who lost their homes due to the fires. “I lost my house.”

“I haven’t really talked about it but, yeah, I have,” she went on. “I just didn’t want to pull a lot of attention to me and I feel that there’s a lot of people that need that attention. So I haven’t really talked about it, but I can’t sit here and not tell the truth, so yeah we lost our house.”

While at a friend’s house in Australia with her partner Louis Bélanger-Martin, Banks, said she discovered the house was destroyed.

“We were celebrating and just having fun. I kept checking my phone, not for my house, but just for friends and family,” she said. “I was just making sure they were evacuating and everything.”

“Then, I asked my partner, ‘I’m seeing something here. What do you think?’

Banks said she “pulled it together ” when she found she lost her home

“I didn’t say anything to my friends and I just stayed in that moment. Then we went home and we cried. We had our moment,” Banks said.

Because the couple split their time in Australia and New York, they didn’t lose all of their mementos.

“So, I didn’t lose those thank goodness,” Banks continued.

As of today, thousands of residents throughout L.A. County are still under evacuation orders.

Other celebrities who have lost their homes include Tina Knowles, Jhene Aiko, Keyshia Cole, and many more.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, the death toll is currently at 27.
