After Keke Palmer and Usher were the subjects of think pieces all over social media for weeks due to their interaction at his Vegas residency, the two have teamed up to be in his music video for new single Boyfriend.
Usher announced the single with a teaser trailer that he posted to YouTube and social media. It featured clips of the two. Palmer also shared the teaser on her Twitter account.
“Somebody said that your boyfriend’s looking for me/Oh that’s cool,” Usher sings in the new track.
The full video, which was filmed in Las Vegas according to the credits on YouTube, premieres on Wednesday.
Palmer faced backlash in July after attending Usher’s show. Along with posting videos of her fangirling over the singer, he approached her to sing There Goes My Baby. The father of her child, Darius Daulton took to Twitter to comment on her outfit at the show.
“It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” he said in the tweet.
After receiving mixed opinions from users all over social media, he followed up with another tweet.
“We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is,” he said. “This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
Both tweets have since been deleted.
