A White woman in Maine has been charged by the attorney general after she attacked a Black man with a pumpkin.
Court documents identified the woman as 65-year-old Andrea Ouellette, who threw a pumpkin at the 31-year-old man while yelling racial slurs at him. According to reports, the unidentified victim was outside talking to his neighbor when Ouellette ran up to them and threw the pumpkin at his head.
The man suffered from multiple injuries including broken teeth, facial swelling, and a broken nose. He also needed surgery as a part of his recovery. This isn’t the first incident that Ouellette was involved in.
In January, she approached a 48-year-old Black woman, who was parking near her home and yelled at the woman that she was not allowed to park there. Ouellette then approached her with a knife and told her to “go back to her country or I will f*****g kill you!” Both cases are under investigation and charges are currently pending.
In a statement, Attorney General Frey said that he will use Maine’s Civil Rights to help stop racist threats and violence from happening.
