The Rewind with Jus Nik, keeping you informed on everything that happened in the culture this week:

Jermaine Dupri:

Jermaine Dupri appeared on a podcast and says he had to check Babyface after he seemingly downplayed Kriss Kross’s “Jump.” Jermaine says Babyface approached him and said, “Yeah, you the guy with the lil’ jump record.’ He almost made me disrespect him. He said ‘lil’ jump record.’ I was like, ‘What? Little?’ He was like, ‘Yeah, you know, it’s cool you did that one time, but how many times can you do that?’” Jermaine says that statement motivated him to keep making hits and kept him humble.

FloRida:

Prayers to the rapper FloRida, his 6-year-old son is fighting for his life in ICU after falling from a 5-story apartment window earlier this month. The child’s mother, Alexis Adams, filed a lawsuit against the Jersey City building’s management on March 27, claiming they were “negligent and careless and did not install size guards on the window” which led to the scary fall. As a result of the fall, he suffered a shattered pelvis, metatarsal fractures, a liver laceration, internal bleeding and collapsed lungs. Alexis is seeking an unspecified amount, praying for his full recovery.

Taye Diggs:

Taye Diggs and April Jones got Omarion’s stamp of approval. April and Omarion share two children, and dated for five years, but broke up in 2016. April moved on with the actor Tay Le Diggs, who recently got the chance to meet Omarion at a school event for their kids. Omarion said, “I just met him for the first time and he seems like a cool dude, and he has kids of his own, and he’s an older man so I only expect good things from him.”

Eva Marcille x Michael Sterling:

Michael Sterling is making sure Eva Marcille isn’t the one who got away. Last week, Eva filed for divorce from Micheal after nearly 5 years. It’s not clear why, but a photo of an alleged divorce document reportedly cites the marriage as “no prospects for a reconciliation.” Micheal told The Jasmine Brand, “I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber in my being. I love her and I plan to show her how much I love her and that our love is strong enough to get to the other side.” Eva hasn’t responded publicly as of yet, we’ll keep you posted.

Gayle King:

Gayle King is the highest-paid employee at CNN. According to RadarOnlineGayle King signed a $12 million contract with CNN, for just an hour of work per week. CNN’s views decreased after Chris Cuomo was fired for an alleged sexual assault, so Gayle’s prime time slot is meant to help the network. Rumors swirled that she was leaving CBS, but Gayle says, “I have two years left on my contract with CBS, and I have no intention of leaving.”
