The Rewind with Jus Nik, keeping you informed on everything that happened in the culture this week:

Chris Rock:

During Chris Rock’s Selective Outrage Netflix special, he addressed the Oscar slap. Chris said Will Smith’s anger was rooted in his problems with wife, Jada Pinkett, and her entanglement with August Alsina. The NY Post reports that Will is feeling “embarrassed” and “hurt” over Chris’s comments.

Snoop Dogg:

Snoop Dogg’s latest business venture involves him teaming up with the former Apple executive Larry Jackson to put out music under Larry’s Gamma record label. Snoop Dogg will drop two new solo albums through Gamma and use the label to distribute the entire Death Row Records catalog. Snoop said, “It made sense for two Black men to come together to change the face of the industry. I didn’t want to partner with a regular company because they respect me and fear me so much, they wouldn’t wanna give me ideas.”

Mike Epps:

Mike Epps was detained at an Indianapolis airport after a loaded 38 caliber handgun was found in his carry-on. Mike took to social media and said, “If you want to know why I carry a gun, I carry money all the time. I be having jewelry on, and these dudes is out here robbing people.” He wasn’t arrested, but the gun was confiscated.

Tyler Perry:

Tyler Perry and Byron Allen are competing to acquire B.E.T. after Paramount Global announced they wanted to sell. If the sale goes through, Paramount will maintain a “commercial relationship” with B.E.T. No decisions have been made; who do you think will end up owning the network?
