Music genius Missy Elliott is the first female rapper to be nominated for the 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame. Elliott is best known for her eclectic sound and style. She is also a songwriter and producer who have crafted a plethora of songs for some our favorite music talents like Aaliyah, Whitney Houston and Beyonce.
The organization announced the full list of nominees and along with Elliott. Some of the big names include Vince Gill and Mariah Carey. If she is inducted, she will become the third rapper following Jermaine Dupri and Jay-Z.
Elliott shared her excitement on Twitter. She tweeted:
“I am humbly grateful to be nominated with so many other AMAZING writers.”
