More than seven years after Nipsey Hussle’s death, his two children have officially received their inheritance from the late rapper’s estate.
The distribution marks the end of a lengthy probate process that followed Hussle’s fatal shooting outside his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles on March 31, 2019. Court approval finalized the estate’s distribution this month, allowing his daughter, Emani Asghedom, and son, Kross Asghedom, to receive their respective shares.
According to court records cited by multiple outlets, Hussle’s estate was valued at approximately $11 million. The final payout included cash, business interests, trademarks, and other assets accumulated during the Grammy-nominated artist’s career. While the exact dollar amounts remain under seal, reports indicate the estate was divided equally between his two children.
The settlement closes one of the final legal matters connected to the estate of the rapper, born Ermias Asghedom. His financial legacy grew significantly after his death, fueled by continued music sales, ownership interests, and the expansion of business ventures he established before his passing.
A Lengthy Probate Process Comes to a Close
Administering Hussle’s estate proved to be a complex process. His brother, Samiel “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, oversaw the estate throughout the proceedings. The administration also involved legal matters surrounding Hussle’s daughter, Emani, whose guardianship became the subject of court disputes in the years following the rapper’s death.
Those issues were eventually resolved, clearing the way for the estate to move toward its final distribution. Court approval officially closed probate, bringing years of legal proceedings to an end.
Lauren London, Hussle’s longtime partner and the mother of Kross, reportedly acknowledged receipt of funds distributed on behalf of their son as part of the final settlement. The documents remain partially sealed, leaving specific financial details private.
A representative for the estate released a statement after the distribution became official.
“The estate has been finalized, and Nipsey’s assets have been distributed to their rightful beneficiaries, his children. We are grateful to have reached this milestone and remain committed to honoring Nipsey’s legacy while protecting the privacy of his loved ones. Thank you to everyone who continues to support that legacy.”
Building Generational Wealth
Long before his death, Hussle frequently spoke about ownership, financial independence, and creating generational wealth. Rather than focusing solely on music, he invested in businesses, technology, commercial real estate, and his Marathon brand.
His entrepreneurial mindset became a defining part of his legacy. Fans and business leaders often point to his investments as examples of long-term planning within the entertainment industry.
The estate includes ownership interests tied to Marathon Clothing and intellectual property connected to Hussle’s career. Those assets have continued generating value since his death, reflecting the business foundation he built while alive.
Hussle was fatally shot at age 33 outside his South Los Angeles clothing store. In 2022, Eric Holder Jr. was convicted of first-degree murder for the killing. He later received a sentence that effectively requires him to serve decades in prison before becoming eligible for parole.
Although his life ended tragically, Hussle’s influence continues through his music, community initiatives, and business ventures. His philosophy of ownership has remained central to discussions about his legacy.
With the estate now settled, one of Hussle’s most personal goals has officially been fulfilled. His children have inherited the wealth and assets he spent years building, ensuring that the benefits of his work extend to the next generation.
For supporters who followed both his career and his mission beyond music, the conclusion of the probate process represents more than a legal milestone. It reflects the lasting impact of an artist who consistently encouraged others to think beyond immediate success and build something designed to endure.
