Atlanta radio personality and former BET host Big Tigger was arrested over the weekend on charges of aggravated battery and cruelty to children, according to Fulton County jail records.

Big Tigger, whose legal name is Darian Morgan, was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Saturday before being released later the same day after posting bond. Authorities charged the veteran broadcaster with felony aggravated battery and a misdemeanor count of cruelty to children.

The arrest marks a significant development in a case that has drawn widespread public attention over the past several weeks.

Morgan, 53, is best known for hosting BET’s “Rap City” and currently serves as a morning host on Atlanta radio station V-103. His absence from the station’s morning lineup this week fueled speculation before details of the arrest became public.

According to reports, the charges stem from an ongoing domestic violence investigation involving Morgan and his wife, Alicia Brown. Earlier this month, law enforcement officials identified Morgan as a suspect in an alleged domestic dispute that reportedly occurred in May.

Investigators previously said Brown sought medical treatment for injuries before authorities became involved. Officials indicated the injuries were not considered life-threatening. However, details surrounding how the injuries occurred have not been publicly released.

Investigation Escalates

The arrest follows days of mounting scrutiny surrounding the case.

Earlier reports indicated that police had opened an investigation after receiving information related to an alleged domestic incident. At that time, authorities had not announced any charges and had not confirmed whether an arrest would be made.

Public discussion intensified after allegations surfaced on social media. Brown appeared to reference the situation in online posts that generated significant attention and prompted widespread speculation.

Morgan has denied wrongdoing.

In a public response issued after reports linked him to the investigation, Morgan described the allegations against him as false. He also criticized what he characterized as misinformation circulating online.

His legal representatives have not publicly commented on the specific charges filed Saturday.

Career and Community Impact

Morgan has remained a recognizable figure in radio and television for more than two decades. His work on “Rap City” helped introduce a generation of hip-hop artists to mainstream audiences, and he later became a prominent voice in Atlanta broadcasting.

The arrest has generated strong reactions throughout the entertainment industry and among listeners in Atlanta, where Morgan has maintained a high-profile presence for years.

Legal experts note that an arrest represents an accusation rather than a determination of guilt. The charges will now move through the court system, where prosecutors must present evidence supporting their case.

As of Tuesday, no court date had been publicly announced. Additional details surrounding the allegations and the child cruelty charge have not yet been released by authorities.

The investigation remains ongoing.
