Lenny Kravitz can officially add Ken doll to his long list of accomplishments.
Mattel has honored the Grammy-winning musician with his own collectible Ken doll. The release celebrates Kravitz’s decades-long impact on music, fashion and popular culture.
Kravitz is only the second man honored through Mattel’s Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Collection. NBA superstar LeBron James became the collection’s first honoree in 2025.
The collection recognizes men who have made an impact on culture while encouraging positive change.
For Kravitz, seeing himself transformed into one of the world’s most recognizable toys still feels unexpected.
“Barbie is an institution and as a kid growing up, I could not have imagined this,” Kravitz said.
The 62-year-old also told People that becoming a Ken doll made him think about his childhood. He grew up surrounded by Barbie, Ken and G.I. Joe figures while playing with his cousins.
Now, nearly four decades into his music career, children and collectors can have a Lenny Kravitz figure of their own.
The Doll Pulls From Kravitz’s Signature Style
Mattel did not play it safe when recreating Kravitz’s famously distinctive wardrobe.
The $70 collectible takes inspiration from the singer’s “Blue Electric Light Tour.”
His miniature counterpart wears a bronze mesh cowl-neck tank with boot-leg denim jeans. The outfit includes boots and a studded belt.
Of course, it would hardly be Lenny Kravitz without a pair of sunglasses.
Mattel also recreated the musician’s signature locs, nose ring and tattoos. The doll even features details inspired by Kravitz’s real jewelry.
Kravitz told People the necklace was particularly personal. The original piece belonged to his late mother, actress Roxie Roker.
The singer said Mattel’s designers paid close attention to his tour wardrobe while creating the collectible.
Even his vintage-inspired sunglasses were recreated for the doll.
Mattel says the figure was designed by Linda Kyaw. Packaging designer Laydiana Chiv created its display presentation.
The doll also comes with a stand and certificate of authenticity.
Kravitz Joins LeBron James as a “Kenbassador”
The timing of Kravitz’s honor also coincides with another milestone for the Barbie universe.
Ken celebrates his 65th anniversary in 2026.
Mattel introduced its Kenbassadors Collection one year earlier with James. The company created his doll to recognize the athlete’s influence beyond basketball.
Kravitz brings music and fashion into the growing collection.
His selection comes after more than 35 years of genre-spanning work in entertainment.
Kravitz released his debut album, “Let Love Rule,” in 1989. He later built a catalog that includes “Fly Away,” “Again” and “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”
Mattel says Kravitz has sold more than 50 million records worldwide.
His career has also extended beyond music. Kravitz has worked as an actor and designer while maintaining his reputation as a fashion risk-taker.
The new doll specifically captures his current era.
Kravitz released “Blue Electric Light,” his 12th studio album, in 2024. He followed the project with an international tour that stretched more than two years.
He told People the run became one of the most meaningful tours of his career.
“I think I’m feeling the best I’ve felt,” Kravitz told the outlet.
That moment has now been preserved in plastic.
Kravitz’s Barbie Signature Kenbassadors doll went on sale online Sept. 17. It is available through Mattel Creations and other major retailers.
There may also be one headed directly to Zoë Kravitz.
The musician told People his daughter had not yet seen her father’s miniature alter ego.
“I will send her one,” Kravitz said with a laugh.
