Royce Reed Accuses Dwight Howard Of Using Money To Silence The Truth

Reality television personality Royce Reed is again speaking publicly about her long-running dispute with former NBA star Dwight Howard, accusing him of using wealth and influence to control narratives about their past.

Reed, best known for appearing on the VH1 series Basketball Wives, recently addressed ongoing drama surrounding Howard and his estranged wife, rapper Amy Luciani. In comments circulating online, Reed suggested that money and connections have been used to suppress allegations about the retired basketball player.

Reed and Howard share a son, Braylon, and have maintained a contentious relationship for more than a decade. Their disputes have included legal battles, public accusations, and disagreements over how their personal history has been discussed in the media.

“Money can absolutely buy you a verdict, but your connections can also hide your truth,” Reed said in one statement shared online.

Howard has not publicly responded to the latest comments.

Longstanding Conflict Resurfaces

The renewed controversy comes as public attention has shifted back to Howard’s personal life following allegations and disputes involving Luciani. Reed weighed in on the situation, suggesting that some people only speak out after their relationship with the athlete deteriorates.

Reed claimed Luciani’s recent criticisms of Howard may have emerged only after their relationship turned sour.

According to Reed, “She only spoke out because he turned on her.”

Reed has frequently described feeling restricted from discussing her experiences with Howard. In past interviews, she said legal agreements limited what she could publicly say about the athlete.

The tension dates back to the early years of their relationship. Howard once won a defamation judgment against Reed after a court ruled she violated a media gag order connected to their paternity agreement.

Reed later explained that she signed the agreement without realizing its broader consequences.

“So the gag order is an agreement I signed willingly,” Reed said during an interview about the dispute. “And I didn’t realize that’s what it was.”

Howard and Reed’s relationship has been marked by legal and personal conflicts since their breakup.

In 2014, Reed accused Howard of physically disciplining their son with a belt. Authorities investigated the claim but ultimately did not file criminal charges.

The two have also disagreed publicly about financial matters connected to child support. Howard previously said he paid Reed about $13,000 per month for their son over many years.

Despite the history of disputes, both parents have at times emphasized their shared responsibility for raising Braylon.

Howard, an eight-time NBA All-Star and former champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, remains one of the league’s most recognizable players from the 2000s and early 2010s.

Reed, meanwhile, has built a career as a dancer, fitness entrepreneur and television personality.

The latest round of accusations has reignited public debate about the pair’s complicated past. It also highlights how unresolved conflicts between high-profile figures can continue resurfacing years after their relationship ends.

For now, Reed says she intends to keep speaking openly.

“How much money was garnished through the lifetime that people don’t know about?” she asked.
