Grammy-winning singer Toni Braxton cut her performance short during a weekend concert in Minneapolis, citing an unexpected personal emergency that forced her to leave the stage early.

Braxton, 58, was performing at the Target Center on Sunday as part of the New Edition Way Tour, which also features New Edition and Boyz II Men. The show was expected to include a multi-song set from the R&B icon, but her appearance ended abruptly after only a portion of her performance.

In a message posted to her Instagram Stories on Monday, Braxton addressed fans directly and apologized for the sudden interruption.

“My loves, I am so sorry I wasn’t able to finish the show last night,” she wrote. “I had an unexpected personal emergency and had no choice but to step away.”

She added, “You deserved my everything and I hate that I couldn’t give it to you. I feel your love from here. Thank you for understanding.”

Tour Continues Despite Sudden Exit

The New Edition Way Tour has drawn large crowds nationwide, combining three major R&B acts into one lineup. Braxton typically performs a set of about nine songs during each stop, though it remains unclear how many songs were completed before she exited the Minneapolis stage.

Representatives for the tour have not released additional details about the nature of the emergency. Organizers also have not indicated whether any adjustments will be made for upcoming shows.

Despite the disruption, the tour is expected to continue as scheduled, with additional stops planned across several U.S. cities.

Health History Raises Questions

Braxton did not specify the cause of the emergency, leaving fans to speculate about her condition. The singer has been open in the past about ongoing health challenges, including a diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disease that can cause fatigue and other complications.

She has also previously undergone emergency heart surgery in 2022, underscoring the physical demands of touring while managing chronic health issues.

Even so, Braxton has continued to perform and record music, maintaining a decades-long career marked by chart-topping hits and multiple Grammy Awards.

Fans on social media responded with messages of support following her statement, many expressing concern while thanking her for addressing the situation directly.

For now, no further updates have been provided regarding her condition or whether the Minneapolis performance will be rescheduled.
